Art Justice Cohort, founded by Ellen Jacob, was born in the summer of 2020 amid a perfect storm of injustice, as we stood at the convergence of three deadly plagues — systemic racism, the worst global pandemic in a century, and an historic economic depression. All three fell disproportionately on people of color and others forced to live on the margins.
Art Justice Cohort believes in the power of art to change people and the power of people to make political and cultural change.
“The purpose of art is to lay bare the questions that have been hidden by the answers.” —James Baldwin
